Implementation of Simplex Method to Find Out the Production Optimization of Kemplang Crackers

Abstract

Kemplang crackers, just like pempek, are also popular food and are in high demand among the residents of Palembang City. At the Kemplang Cracker Home Industry located on Majapahit Street, Palembang, many craftsmen and sellers depend on this product as their primary source of income. This research aims to optimize the profitability of kemplang crackers at Kemplang Unyil Palembang. To achieve maximum profits, the selection of the right formula through production planning using Linear Programming is essential. One of the methods employed in Linear Programming is the Simplex Method, which aims to find the optimal solution. The analysis of Linear Programming revealed that the most efficient profit formula is Z = 325.000X1 + 190.000X2. By applying the Simplex Method, the optimal increase in sales profit amounted to approximately Rp928.571.
