Abstract

This study explores the empowerment of women in agriculture within the Graha Tani Ruminansia Foundation in Subang, focusing on character development and self-reliance. In the context of agriculture as a primary sector in the economy, women in farming hold a central role, serving not only as technical practitioners but also as agents of social change. The Graha Tani Ruminansia Foundation has designed a holistic mentoring program to strengthen the roles and capacities of women in farming. Through a qualitative approach employing a case study methodology, this research reveals that women in farming within the foundation^s jurisdiction play strategic roles in agricultural management, including planning and decision-making. The mentoring program not only enhances technical farming skills but also cultivates the character and self-reliance of women in agriculture. The research findings indicate that the empowerment of women in agriculture has a positive impact on agricultural productivity, family income, and community well-being. Nevertheless, challenges persist related to economic factors and patriarchal cultural norms. The research concludes by emphasizing the importance of social support and addressing structural barriers to enhance the effectiveness of women^s empowerment in agriculture. The empowerment model implemented by the Graha Tani Ruminansia Foundation demonstrates potential replicability in various agricultural contexts. Recommendations include increasing social support, adapting empowerment models to local contexts, and implementing measures to improve gender equality and access to economic resources. Thus, this research not only contributes at the local level but also provides a foundation for sustainable social and economic development at the regional level.
