Abstract

Abstract. This case study needs to be carried out because knowledge of personal thinking awareness of the ability to solve a problem will provide a percentage of success in solving a problem. Evaluation of learning by Polya and several problem solving figures has not yet touched on the metacognitive skills of teaching profession students. Professional Teacher Education (PPG) in 2023 is based on Lesson Study which refers to the Merdeka Belajar curriculum so that it becomes a solution in answering Indonesia^s education problems. This research aims to look at the thinking concepts of PPG students in the independent curriculum based on lesson study. The research we have carried out in identifying knowledge of personal thinking awareness towards the ability to solve a problem is called metacognition by providing initial information that the results of an activity can be predicted early. In further research to deepen metacognition by formulating four metacognitive skills, namely prediction skills, planning skills, monitoring skills and evaluation skills. This research is a series of metacognitive skills that must be carried out to get results that match the initial predictions that have emerged. The data collection method in this research is by: 1) Selecting research targets including: students, students of the teaching profession (model teachers), and teachers as observers- 2) Learning is carried out by implementing lesson study- 3) Prepare metacognitive skills instruments for data collection- 4) Data analysis is carried out after the data is collected- 5) Formulation of research conclusions.
