PROGRAM KAMPUNG CINTA LINGKUNGAN (KACINTAAN) SERI CERDAS: URGENSI INTERNALISASI KARAKTER CINTA LINGKUNGAN PADA ANAK

Abstract

One of the efforts that can be made to prevent and overcome environmental problems is internalizing the character of love for the environment, especially in children. In internalizing the character values of loving the environment in children, the role of the family and school environment is a microenvironment for children. Therefore, community service activities are training for Early Childhood Education teachers and Family Welfare Empowerment cadres regarding the urgency of internalizing the character of loving the environment in children. This activity is part of the Environmental Love Village Program, abbreviated as the Kacintaan Program. In addition, 27 early childhood education teachers and Family Welfare Empowerment cadres in Jatinegara Kaum Village, Pulo Gadung District, East Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta Province, follow this activity. The training activity lasted for two days, on 9-10 August 2022, and consisted of preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and the preparation of activity outcomes. The training activity begins with the presentation of the material by the resource person. The material discussed is the component of character building in environmental care, indicators of loving the environment, and strategies for growing the character of loving the environment. After the presentation of the material, the participants conducted group discussions to identify the achievements of the character of loving the environment. At the end of the activity, participants were allowed to identify stimulation media that could be used to internalize the character values of environmental love in children. The activity results showed that the participants had good knowledge of the character of loving the environment and a high desire to do good. However, the habit of doing good is still not optimal. Participants also have good knowledge of indicators and strategies to internalize the character of love for the environment in children need to be improved.
