Study of Kinetic Effects of Copper Catalysts on Graphene Growth 1, 2, 3Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Bandung Institute of Technology, Bandung, Indonesia Abstract The growth of graphene material using the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique requires a catalyst in the formation of the reaction, the presence of a catalyst to increase the speed of the chemical reaction that takes place. The kinetics of the reaction rate depends on the temperature using the Arrhenius equation, using the slope technique. Then the activation energy value is obtained by using the slope between ln k to temperature changes, with 10 wt.% which is 68.7 kJ/mol. while the value of the activation energy of copper with (5, 10, 20, and 30 wt.%) was 94.3 kJ/mol. This indicates that the reaction proceeds faster using a copper catalyst. The faster a reaction allows the collision of large numbers of particles in a relatively short time and a lower energy level so that equilibrium will be reached at a faster time.
