Magnetic and microwave absorption properties of BaFe12O19/BaTiO3 sintered composites system 1Dept. of Physics, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Jalan Rawamangun Muka 13220, Jakarta, Indonesia Abstract We have prepared a composite materials with ferromagnetic BaFe12O19 phase (BHF) and a ferroelectric BaTiO3 phase (BTO) by mechanical milling and sintering method. The X-ray diffraction analysis proved the formation of composite system of BHF and BTO. With the addition of BTO in the composite system, a magnetic loops have been resulted at room temperature with high magnetization saturation (Ms), magnetization remanent (Mr) and coercivity (Hc) values. The effect of the addition of BTO on the microwave absorption properties of the as-prepared composites were investigated by vector network analyzer (VNA). The results showed that the minimum reflection loss values of x=0.4 and x=0.5 are obtained as −-15.8 dB at 9.25 GHz (with an optimum thickness (tm) of 1.8 mm) and −-40.22 dB at 8.5 GHz (with tm of 1.75 mm), respectively.
