Academic Achievement and Prosocial Behavior at School: Related with Authoritative Parenting Style a) Universitas Negeri Malang, Jl. Semarang No.5, Sumbersari, Kec. Lowokwaru, Kota Malang, Jawa Timur 65145, Indonesia Abstract This study tried to describe the relationship between parenting style, academic achievement and prosocial behavior in adolescent. Authoritative parenting style as dependant variable was measured using Authoritative Parenting Stye Scale, while academic performance known by academic rapport score and prosocial behavior is measured using Prosocial Behavior Scale. Subjects (N=98) was 13-15 years old junior high school students of SMPN X Kabupaten Malang. Result form the Pearson^s correlation test reveal that there was no correlation between authoritative parenting style with academic achievement. Meanwhile, prosocial behavior is related with authoritative parenting style. The cause and implication are discussed.
