EXPERIMENTAL STUDY A LOW SPEED-ONE PHASE GENERATOR WITH PERMANENT MAGNETIC RADIAL FLUX Institut sains dan Teknologi AKPRIND Yogyakarta Abstract A low speed permanent magnet generators can be an alternative to generate electrical energy that does not require fuel oil and does not cause pollution. The present work discusses a generator with a low speed permanent magnet by utilizing an electric engine type JY2B - 2. The design of the rotor is carried out by placing a neodymium N52 permanent magnet with dimensions of 6 cm x 1 cm x 0.5 cm. The stator was obtained from a JY2B - 2 type electric motor. The test was carried out at a generator rotation speed of 375 rpm with a frequency of 49.9 Hz under a load test from 40 watts to 440 watts, producing a voltage of 58.1 Volts at a capacitor of 2.5 μ-F, using a capacitor of 7.5 μ-F produces a voltage of 53.3 Volts, and a 10 μ-F capacitor produces a voltage of 60.5 Volts. The decrease in rotation of the generator is not significant to the increase in load, only around 3 rpm, thus the generator can still work well at a maximum load of 440 Keywords: Radial flux generator, permanent magnet, voltage, generator speed Topic: Renewable Energy Technologies |
