Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the development of the digital economy but the behavior of social media users has not yet had an impact on the digital economy, so the purpose of this study is to explore the behavior of social media users in conducting digital economic transactions, for this reason the method used is qualitative descriptive with 8 people as informants were selected by purposive sampling by prioritizing the credibility of the informants. The results show that the development of the digital economy is supported by the development of existing technology. However, the behavior of social media users is still diverse, some have a positive influence and some have a negative influence, so there is a need for government intervention in providing a forum, direction and supervision in conducting digital transactions. Besides that, public awareness is also needed in an effort to improve the digital economy in a more positive direction.
