Abstract
Currently, people^s dependence on electricity is very high. However, the use of electrical energy tends to be poorly understood and lack of insight in handling electrical installation maintenance. Where one of the dangers of electric shock is fire or to death. So it is necessary to provide counseling about the dangers of electricity in general and maintenance and repair of damaged electrical installations for the community, as well as being able to be used as a business opportunity as a household electrical installer for local residents who will build a new house or as a residential audit so that it is safe against the danger of electricity shock.
The method used is the one group pretest posttest design method, research that provides a preliminary test (pretest) before being given treatment, after being given treatment then giving a final test (posttest). From the results of the study, the pretest scores of participants who scored 85 and above reached 57.15% or as many as 28 of 59 participants. And after the presentation of the material for repair and maintenance of residential electrical installations, the posttest results showed that 42 people scored above 85 or as much as 85.71%. Based on the calculation of the t test, the comparison of the results of the pretest and posttest abilities shows that the value is 0.166 > t table = 0.67964. This shows that the research hypothesis which states that there are differences in training for repair and maintenance of residential electrical installations in order to increase skills for the community has been carried out properly.
