Abstract
Natural resources such as plants are very abundant in Indonesia, which have properties and chemical properties for antiseptics to maintain cleanliness and prevent bacteria and viruses during the Covid-19 pandemic. Housewives have a strategic role in maintaining and protecting family members. This community service activity has the aim of providing knowledge and providing skills by utilizing local environmental plants for the manufacture of hand sanitizers. Health education and training using video media were addressed to 25 housewives in the Jakasampurna sub-district, Bekasi Barat, West Java. The implementation method is a presentation for environmental health education and training using video media for making hand sanitizers. Implementation of activities through the online zoom program. Natural hand sanitizer ingredients are derived from local environmental plants, namely basil, kaffir lime, aloe vera, and water. The manufacturing process begins with cleaning the ingredients, both cutting and crushing the ingredients using a blender, the third filtering, and the fourth placing it in a 50 mL compressed air bottle. The results of community service activities showed that participants were happy and enthusiastic about getting knowledge about environmental health and skills training. It can be observed that there are questions and answers, and there is discussion among the participants and the resource person. 85% of participants stated that their knowledge of environmental health had increased, and 88% of participants could practice making hand sanitizers at home.
