Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Installations as Fire Prevention

Abstract

Electricity is a tool that is needed in various fields. People^s dependence on electricity can be said to be quite high. On the one hand, we need to increase awareness of the dangers of electricity and the best way is through an increased understanding of the nature of the electricity we use. By identifying that a damaged electrical installation can be dangerous for its users and this hazard can also trigger a fire, a solution is needed to improve the community^s competence in understanding maintenance and repair of simple electrical installations. Through training, it is hoped that the problem of electrical installation damage can be resolved. In this training, several methods were used to maximize participants^ understanding of the material, the first method used was the lecture method, the demonstration/assignment method, the discussion and question and answer method, and the practical skills method. From the results of the service, it can be said that education is going very well, as evidenced by the increase in the post test scores as evidence of the enthusiasm of the community for this service activity
