The Effectiveness of Cold Compress and Endorphin Massage Therapy on the Reduction of Pain in a Women in Active Phase I Departement of Health Science, Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. Jalan Prof.Dr.Mansoer Pateda Desa Pentadio Timur Kec Telaga Biru Kabupaten Gorontalo Indonesia Abstract Childbirth pain is a series of clinical manifestations of a subjective discomfort. Control of childbirth pain can be done by pharmacological or non-pharmacological methods. Non-pharmacological methods to control childbirth pain include cold compress therapy and endorphin massage. The objective of research was to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of cold compress and endorphin massage therapy on pain reduction in stage I of maternity in active phase. The method used quasy experiment with two group pretest-posttest design. Sampling technique used result obtained based on data analysis test use mann whitney, there is comparisons from the mean value of pain level to cold compress group amount 10,05 and endorphin massage amount 10.9, therefore the mean difference obtained is 0.87. The conclusion was there is no significant difference between cold compress therapy and endorphin massage in reducing pain in mothers during the active phase of childbirth at dr.
