Abstract
ABSTRACT
Learning autonomy needs motivation, media, and partners to support a language learner to be successful in mastering all skills of a target foreign language. However, not all language learners can successfully apply language learning autonomy and finally master at least one skill of the target language. The present study aimed to reveal the experience of a foreign language learner in learning two foreign languages autonomously using technology. Two instruments namely questionnaire and semi-structured interview were used to obtain data. A Japanese and English learner shared her experience in learning two foreign languages by chatting with friends and teacher as well as reading online bilingual articles in a news website. This finding suggests that reading articles can be a best way for someone to learn a new language. Reading online news articles is an activity that is suitable for the learner who is good at reading and writing in order to learn a new language.
