LEVEL OF COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE IN MITIGATING HEALTH IMPACTS DUE TO FLOOD DISASTERS IN KOPI VILLAGE BULANGO UTARA DISTRICT

Abstract

Disasters are life-threatening events that can occur anytime and anywhere, knowledge related to disaster management is something that the community needs to have. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of public knowledge related to managing health impacts due to flooding in Kopi village, Bulango Utara district. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a total sample of 153 obtained using a consecutive sampling technique. The results showed that 92 (60.8%) lack of knowledge and 61 (39.2%) good knowledge. It can be concluded that the level of public knowledge in dealing with health impacts due to floods is still in the low category.
