Adoption of Information Technology for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises School of Business, IPB University, Bogor, Indonesia Abstract SMEs are one of the most important economic sectors because of its contribution to the Indonesian economy. In the current era of the global economy, SMEs are required to make changes in order to increase its competitiveness. One of the important factors that will determine the power the competitiveness of SMEs is information technology (IT). This paper aims to identify the benefits of IT on SMEs in three different manufacturing subsectors, namely the textile and its products (TPT) industry, automotive components, and handicrafts-- as well as the driving and inhibiting factors for the adoption of IT in Indonesia. The research method used is interpretive research through literature from several journals. The results show that IT adoption in Indonesian SMEs has quite good (the majority of SMEs are already using IT) and its use varies according to the characteristics of each industrial sub-sector.
