Virtual Gallery with Augmented Reality Approach as a Appreciation Room during Pandemic Visual Communication Design Department Abstract Data shows that student^s mental health is decreasing due to the effects of the pandemic, this is also occurring by students of DKV, Bina Nusantara University, Malang. The situation that forces students to be isolated is aggravated by the pressure of assignments that are higher than normal classes, having an impact on doing practical assignments, such as mask works with the theme of Nusantara culture. Students collect and process data, create illustrations, then create masks with various materials. Works that require high effort like this should be appreciated. But unfortunately in the era of the pandemic, appreciation in the form of conventional exhibitions is difficult to do, even though appreciation is needed in difficult conditions like today. There is a need for an appreciation room that is by the situation as well as responding to the challenges of the 4.0 era by utilizing technology, one of which is augmented reality. The technology, which is very relevant to be applied to the Visual Communication Design field, can be an alternative to building a virtual gallery. By utilizing social media Instagram, we can create a virtual gallery that provides a new experience. The purpose of this study is to create an Instagram account containing student work supported by AR applications. Visitors to the virtual gallery can enjoy a digital exhibition containing a design project of masks with the theme of Nusantara culture with a new experience. It is hoped that it will provide a stimulus for students to be passionate about work and improve the quality and quantity of work, especially in the era of the pandemic.
