Work Position Affect to Low Back Pain Complaints Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur Abstract As many as 83% of heavy equipment operators experience low back pain, the wrong work position and repeated work results in low back pain. This study aims to determine the relationship between work position and complaints of low back pain in heavy equipment operators. This study was a crossectional research, which conducted among heavy equipment operator at PT.Kutai Bara Abadi. The analysis in this research used statistical test, namely Chi Square test with 95% confidence degree (= 0.05). From 45 respondents, 30 people (66.7%) in the Non-Ergonomic Working Position category experienced Low Back Pain complaints and 15 people (33.3%) did not experience Low Back Pain complaints. There were 15 heavy equipment operators or 33.3% did not experience low back pain and 30 heavy equipment operators or 66.7% experienced low back pain. There is a relationship between work position and low back pain complaints with a p value = 0.041 (p <0.05).
