Abstract

Technological advances have resulted in people being very easily exposed to food, either directly or indirectly. This exposure certainly has its own impact, for example the emergence of hunger which is not necessarily caused by an energy deficit. This is known as hedonic hunger. According to several studies, hedonic hunger is correlated with many things, one of which is type 2 diabetes. This condition certainly cannot be tolerated, moreover, Indonesian Basic Health Research data has shown that obesity rates and non-communicable diseases such as diabetes are also increasing. This study aimed to provide initial data regarding the condition of hedonic hunger that occurs among students. The results showed that hedonic hunger (M= 44.45, SD = 10.65). In the before the pandemic group, hedonic hunger (M=43.16. SD=10.01) and in the data taken during the pandemic, it shows a higher value of hedonic hunger (M=46.66, SD=11.37). The results of this study are expected to be used for further research on the influence of the environment on individual eating behaviour.
