Integrated Learning Activities (ILA) In Hybrid Learning: Lecturers Perspectives in ESP Classroom

Abstract

ILA provides students the opportunity to comprehend complex problems. Students are expected to be able to meaningfully identify, collect, evaluate, and use the information from their surroundings. Hybrid learning has been commonly implemented in the Indonesian education settings, especially since the pandemic situation. Hence, this article specifically aims to find out the lecturers^ perspectives toward the implantation of ILA in ESP classrooms. This article employs mixed-method approaches using survey and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as the research techniques. Fifty ESP lecturers from seven Indonesian universities as the research participants. Questionnaires adopted from Robin Fogrty^s ILA are handed out to all participants. Then seven participants are chosen for FGD. The result shows that the implementation of ILA has many advantageous in the ESP classrooms. Besides, lecturers need to elaborate more various ILAs in the hybrid classroom to enhance the quality of teaching and learning paradigm.
