Strategies to Develop Technopreneurship in Higher Education

Abstract

Abstract. The number of Indonesian entrepreneurs is still 3.1% of the total population. Even though if you want to become a developed country, at least 14% of the population are entrepreneurs. For this reason, the government through various programs strives to accelerate its development. One of them is the Entrepreneurship Development Program (PPK) which is implemented in Higher Education. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the practical experience of implementing KDP which includes: 1) the right strategy in developing entrepreneurs- 2) Newly developed Technopreneursh- and 3) Good cooperation between Unesa and the industrial community. The method used in implementing this PPK is PALS (Participatory Action Learning System) which includes three phases, namely: 1) awareness)- 2) capaciting, and scaffolding entrepreneurship capacity building, and (3) institutionalization. The results of the PPK implementation show- 1) found the right strategy in developing technopreneurs- 2) successfully developed 8 new technopreneurs- and 3) creating good cooperation between the State University of Surabaya and the surrounding industrial communities. It was concluded that this program was implemented 100% according to target. Many thanks go to the DRPM (Directorate of Research and Community Service) for funding the implementation of this program.
