Abstract

The research objective was to obtain the best dose of inorganic NPK and the best number of pruned shoots for the growth and yield of melons. This research is a factorial experiment, with the basic design randomized block design tried 2 factors repeated 3 times. The results showed that NPK gave significant to very significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, leaf fresh weight, fresh weight of stover, root fresh weight, and fruit fresh weight. The highest fresh fruit weight was obtained at NPK 300 kg ha-1. amounting to 1.078.82 g the lowest without NPK weighing 903.56 g. The number of pruned shoots had a significant effect on fresh weight of the highest stover at pruning 2 shoots of 180.13 g, the lowest was at pruning 4 shoots with a value of 152.58 g.
