Abstract

The pandemic era demands that japanese learning be done by online. Teaching kanji, which requires face-to-face instruction, is a challenge in itself. In this study, a Collaborative Learning method was conducted on online intermediate Kanji learning. Learning is done by creating groups (4 people in one group) in the class. Each group was given the task of studying kanji in the chapter related to the task of checking how to read kanji (Onyomi and Kunyomi) and their recitation. Each group makes a study report in the form of a presentation which is done using the zoom meeting media, where each group randomly presents 4-5 kanji. Furthermore, the teacher provides fukusyuu, kihonrensyuu and ouyourensyuu, while providing direction and important points of learning. Learning evaluation is done by holding an online individual quiz using the Quiziz application. The results of this study show that the average final grade score increases, which indicates that students^ intearaction in learning activities is better than the lecture method.
