Abstract

The drying method of agricultural waste briquettes using microwave heating is considered faster and can be measured. Biomass briquettes are an alternative to fossil energy. Biomass briquette material has a large capacity and is easily available in the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of water content, value of ash content, flame duration, temperature and calorific value of briquettes made from coconut shell, soybean skin, peanut shell, corncob, rice straw, and cassava shell. From the results of the research data, it can be seen that the lowest water content is in the coconut shell, the lowest ash content is in the coconut shell, the duration of ignition and the highest temperature is briquette on the peanut shell, the highest calorific value is in the coconut shell. Overall, the test of agricultural waste material that has the highest value is coconut shell.
