Teacher Knowledge About Mathematics Literacy And Its Assessment
Abstract
Mathematics literacy is one of the students^ abilities which is essential to be developed through the learning process. The success of the learning process that develops mathematical literacy skills dramatically depends on teachers^ knowledge of mathematical literacy and its assessment. The purpose of this study was to gather information about teacher knowledge related to mathematics literacy and its assessment. This type of research is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. The research sample was 30 junior high school mathematics teachers from 4 provinces in Indonesia. Data were collected using a questionnaire which was then analyzed and conducted in-depth interviews. The results showed that teachers knowledge of mathematical literacy, the ability of teachers to develop and assess mathematical literacy is still minimal so that in the learning process teachers have not developed students^ mathematical literacy skills.
