Abstract
This research aims at finding out whether (1) Pair Recording method more effective than Direct Instruction to teach speaking- (2) Students with high creativity have better speaking skills than those having low creativity- and (3). There is an interaction between teaching methods and students^ creativity in teaching speaking. The design of this research was experimental research. This research was conducted in One Vocational High School in Sampit, Kalimantan Tengah. The subject of the research is all the eleventh-grade students of Office Automatisation and Governance of One Vocational High School in Sampit,. In collecting the data, several steps were applied: (1) giving creativity test to know student^s level of creativity- (2) conducting teaching media to the students- (3) carrying out post-test- and (4) analyzing the students^ speaking skills. The data were obtained from a creativity test and a speaking test. Furthermore, to analyze the data, the researcher applied descriptive and inferential statistics using ANOVA and Tukey test. The result of the research finding leads to the conclusions that: (1) the students who are taught using the Pair Recording method have better speaking skill than students taught by using the Direct Instruction Method.- (2) the students who have high creativity have better speaking skill than those who have low creativity- and (3) There is the interaction between teaching methods and students^ creativity in teaching speaking.
