The Effectiveness of Problem-Solving Strategy in Reducing Students^ Academic Stress in Online Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic Slamet Riyadi University Abstract The existence of Covid-19 requires all online-based learning so that there is one important issue that needs to be studied, namely student academic stress. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Solving Strategy technique to reduce student academic stress of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study included all 4th semester students who were given an academic stress scale instrument so that 5 people who had high academic stress levels were obtained. The design of this study used an experimental one group pre-test post-test design. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, it shows that the value of Asyimp-2 tailed is 0.043 <0.05, which means there is a difference in the pre-test and post-test scores after being given the Problem-Solving Strategy treatment. This shows that the Problem-Solving Strategy technique is effective to reducing student academic stress of online learning during covid-19. Suggestions for counselors in schools are that they can apply this technique as a means of reducing student academic stress in taking online learning. Suggestions for future researchers are to apply this PSS technique in the context of work stress, burnout or anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic.
