Internet of Things for Assessing Carbon Dioxide Concentration Inside A Classroom as A Drowsiness Detection Tools School of Computer Science, Bina Nusantara University Abstract This research was conducted inside 6x6x3 meters of a classroom equipped with 2 AC without air ventilation, occupied by 25 persons to measure carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration inside a classroom. The only medium for air circulation is the main door entrance. Measurements are taken by comparing the carbon dioxide level of 100 minutes of student activity between the exam class and the regular learning classes using IoT devices. The measure is intended to determine at what minute CO2 concentration value touches the 1000ppm due to it is the threshold value of the drowsiness based on referenced values. Found that after 40 minutes CO2 concentration value touches 1000ppm on exam class, meanwhile on regular class after 50 minutes. Based on this research, teachers should open the classroom door before the first 60 minutes to let the air circulate Keywords: Carbon dioxide concentration, drowsiness detection, classroom activity, air quality assessment, Internet of Things Topic: Health, Medical, Pharmacy and Technology |
