The Students^ creative thinking in open ended problem: the study of mathematics learning process Mathematics Education Department, STKIP Bina Bangsa Getsempena, Tanggul Krueng Aceh Baru Street 34, Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Indonesia Abstract This study aims to describe the creative thinking process of junior high school students in solving open-ended problems . This research is a descriptive qualitative approach, subjek in this study as many as 2 students who are capable of mathematical equivalent, can communicate well and be willing to be interviewed, and the same sex. The data in this study were obtained through analysis of test questions and interviews . The research data obtained shows that the fact that Subject-1 (S1) and Subject-2 (S2) belong to the criteria for the level of creative thinking ability 2 (quite creative) are in the process of problem solving is open ( open ended ) s already able to give an answer that is appropriate, but has not been able to devise a different way of solving various fluently and answers generated are not new.
