Implementation of Role Playing Learning Methods to Improve Primary School Students^ Speaking Skills

Abstract

Completeness of learning is an important problem, concerning the future of students, especially those who have learning difficulties. the absence of process and learning skills that emphasize the active role of students, the core of the problem is the problem of ^learning completeness^, namely the attainment of the minimum level of mastery defined for each individual competency. The objectives of this study were: 1) To determine the application of the Role playing learning method to improve speaking skills in the drama performance material for the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Tempursari. 2) To find out the difference between the class that applies the learning method of role playing and the class that does not use role playing in the material for the drama performance of the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Tempursari. 3) To determine the results of the Application of Role Playing Learning Methods in the Class IV Student Drama Performance Materials SD N 1 Tempursari. This research uses quantitative methods with the research design Intact-Group design. Methods of data collection are carried out by observation and test methods. The results showed that there was an increase in students^ speaking skills using the role playing method. It is shown by the results of the calculation of the results of the t test, it is obtained that t count is 3.88 greater than t table 2, 093 at the 5% significance level.
