Application of Environmental Based Learning in Realizing Students Caring Attitudes to Environment

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study environment-based learning or environmental education, foster environmental care in students and find out how much students care about the environment through environment-based learning from an early age. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of elementary school 1 Kalibeber Mojotengah Wonosobo, totaling 35 students. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, documentation and observation. The data were analyzed using non-statistical analysis because it did not involve numbers and was used to determine how much the level of students caring attitude towards the environment during environment-based learning. The results showed that environmental-based learning or environmental education could improve students caring attitudes towards the environment at elementary school 1 Kalibeber Mojotengah Wonosobo. This is suitable with the aim of the school which is an environmentally cultured school (Adiwiyata) since 2008.
