This article is very good and interesting.. I would like to ask a question
regarding mental health issue.
What if playing online game is a form of coping loneliness? Maybe because
they^re missing their school life (for example playing with friend, having a
conversation with friend, etc)..
Or maybe they^re just feeling lonely because their parents busy working from
home. They need person to talk to..
If that so, is playing game and interacting with people online is the best method
to ease their loneliness? Because feeling lonely would lead to a bad condition for
mental health...
Yes, there is an association between online games or Internet addiction and
loneliness or social anxiety, even depression. Our research found a solution to this
problem. Hence, we carry out capacity building by prioritizing mental health recovery
through family communication patterns that balance online and offline life. Parents
must be sensitive to their children^s condition, especially adolescents, and parents
should not be addicted to online activities. Several similar studies with our research
findings also support the same thing, but the methodologies we use, such as action
research and ethnography, are much more unique and novelty. We prove it from
capacity-building activities in the field. Thank you, Ms. Tamimi Zakirah.
