Question & Answer to the Presentation

Question from Mr. Rinasa Agistya Anugrah
2020.11.18 13:36:06

Is the output from the wind turbine also stored to the battery or directly supplied to the electrical panel?

the output of the wind turbine is stored in the battery first. We add a device that
functions to regulate the turbine. If the battery is full, the wind turbine will not
rotate.

How to make the wind turbine stop to rotate when it don^t be used, why don^t you make a system like regulator that the turbine still rotate but the electrical do not charge the batrai. Does the turbine trully stop rotated when it^s not needed, while at the same time the wind blows through the turbine?
I interest to your research, and I have been doing my reserch about hybrid system combining wind turbine and solar cell with applied downstream to make natural cooling system, and calculate it wit CFD and proof this with experiment, but It has not be done yet, will we be able to join the research in the future about this.
I^m glad if you contact me via email : rinasaanugrah@umy.ac.id
Thanks for your responses.

Question from Mr. Rinasa Agistya Anugrah
2020.11.18 13:35:28

Do you think the surface of the sollar cell requires cooling? does it mean that the solar cell has an optimum working temperature to generate maximum electricity, or the hotter the better? I have read several journals that the surface temperature of the solar cell has an optimal temperature, in your opinion, should we design a hybrid wind turbine system with a sollar cell utilizing the downstream of the wind turbine for cooling and dust cleaning of the solar cell surface?

Solar cell performance is greatly influenced by temperature. High temperature
results in an increase in reverse saturation current. Due to this, the charging factor
and efficiency of the solar cell will be reduced.

So far, we have not yet cooled the solar cells. The idea is very good but it becomes
more complex because we have to determine the optimum conditions of the solar
cell accurately.

With regard to wind turbines, theoretically the higher the wind turbine, the higher
the energy produced

Okay, thank you for your explanation.

Question from Mr. Fatkhur Rohman
2020.11.18 13:30:45

Are there any other applications like HOMER? and why did you choose this
application in doing the analysis?
Replies:

There are several applications that can be used as a tool for simulation and design
of a renewable energy system, including HOMER, RETScreen, PVsyst, and iHOGA.

We use this application because this application is free, easy to understand and
very little computation time. In addition, this application can consider the sale or
purchase of electricity from the network.

Question from Mr. Edy Roy Antonius S
2020.11.18 12:31:22

From this research conclusion, it is found that the value of the Cost of Energy is
14,266 / kWh.
According this, is this selling value of this electricity will be visible to be applied in
the Ciladap area?

EMAS BAYU hybrid power plant is built only for the community in Bondan and is not
for commercial purposes. Each family was asked to pay Rp. 25,000 per month and
the energy obtained for a month is 15 kWh (in one day each family gets 0.5 kWh
of electricity).
