1. What software does the design use?
2. Which model is used in Ansys software related to lubricating
performance?
3. To replace a fluid model, or other components made? Where
applicable, what is the thickness of the component and what is the type
of material?
We would like to thank you for your questions. Below are the anwers for your questions.
1. We used Solidwork software for geometry modelling
2. For analysis of the lubrication inside the artificial hip joint, we used FLUENT modul in ANSYS, while for analysis of structure representing each parts of the artificial hip joint, we used the modul of Transient structure modul. We combined these modules with coupling system to analyze the complete system of articial hip joint
3. In our simulation, there are two computational domains, i.e, the fluid representing the synovial natural lubricant inside the hip joint, and the structures. All the structures (except for the liner) are made of the steel. Only liner is made from the UHMWPE (kind of polymer).
