It is fascinating to discuss digitization in the SME sector because I also have
concerns about capacity building. What are the variables that must be taken into
account for the successful digitization of SMEs? Instead, what factors must be
strengthened to help SMEs succeed? Does your research consider retail and
distribution management techniques and digital marketing communication
messaging skills among SMEs?

Thank you for your great question. indeed I do agree that capacity building
relates to digitalisation effort to SMEs.
We used internet usage capability, innovation capability, adopter characteristic
and learning barriers.
What we found in the field that the eagerness of the subject to be digitalised is
substantial before coming to other variables such as innovation, marketing and
others. However, We haven^t covered digital marketing communication yet, I
guess using it will be a big opportunity for further research. Hope to keep in

Thank you for your question. I admit it was a substantial question. Based on the
field research, interview and also experience from mentoring SMEs. I think the
necessity is still there due to the big opportunity of internet user in Indonesian
(around more than 50% Indonesian people use internet and that include PKL).
The output of this article is to test a certain mobile technology whether it can be
applied by PKL or not and the result is positive due to its easiness to the
customer and assistance it brought to PKL.
In the same time, I do agree that in the near future (lets say 1-10 years from
now) We still have mobile PKL around us. The same reason applied here due to
the big number or non internet user in Indonesia. Will be glad to hear your

still be substantial demand for it in the future, knowing that today, every aspects of
living experience some transformation of forms.
There is uncertainty about the condition of when mobile PKL starts (or are ^forced^) to
adapt to the internet and digitalisation, since it may stop being the ^mobile PKL^ we all
know.

I guess if we are talking to first generation owner in SMEs (which perhaps above
50 y/o) it will be difficult to turn them into digital friendly user. However, in my
point of view, somehow surviving 4.0 era is not only about digitalisation. Since
it will be difficult to enlighten old generation to use Internet, it will be better to
penetrate their market by maximising their local market. It will need a different
approach, however to be able to assists them to survive 4.0 ora, I guess We can
maximise other potency apart of difitalisasion

How to making correlation PKL with velue chance student
become increase and releated with goal of the university?

Thank you for your comment and question. In my point of view, collaboration is
the best answer. Students need practical study, University needs improvement
in performance (both academic and increasing in practical usage) and PKL has
the business. This form of collaboration apart of community service and
research with PKL as the research object, can be also collaboration in term of
entrepreneurship project like: trying to upgrade PKL business by empowering
them in establishing new market or penetrate to their market, business
collaboration in term of business assistance with mentor from universities.
