Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of using android-based digital teaching materials in increasing student involvement in science learning at special schools AYKB Garut. The research method used is true experimental research. The research instrument was a non-test. The non-test instrument is a questionnaire (questionnaire). The population in this study were students of class VIII at the Special Secondary School level. The response and the level of student involvement in learning were obtained through a questionnaire which was then carried out by statistical tests through a parametric test, where the normality test had been previously calculated. The results showed that the calculation of the response of the experimental class students to learning using Android-based digital teaching materials obtained the highest average percentage of 80.0% and included in the good category. In the use of these teaching materials, as many as 83.3% of students were actively involved in learning. This teaching material can be used as an alternative to online learning teaching materials combined with face-to-face learning. Further research needs to be done to see the effectiveness of using this teaching material on a broader scale and on different subjects.
